Another Habitat Family has just broke ground in Washington County Virginia,
Sunday, October 10th. As
you may have seen on WCYB-TV 5, the Roark Family of Meadowview, VA have
started their first step toward home ownership
with the official ground breaking ceremony on the property
where the latest Habitat Home will be erected.

Special thanks to all of our volunteer members and
community supporters including the outstanding financial committment of great
community partners like Rick Nilda of Alpha Natural Resources bringing a
donation of $5,000, and Berry Home Centers - a long time committed member of the
Habitat family who have donated substantial amounts of building materials.
With the support of solid community partners like Alpha Natural Resources, and
Berry Home Centers, the
dream of home ownership can and will happen.
When we work together we
make a great example for others to follow.

You can see the excitement beginning as the Crosswhites and
our habitat team get ready
to roll up their sleeves and start building a home the
Crosswhites can call their own.
When you see the habitat sign go up on a lot, the whole neighborhood
gets excited! You can
be a part of the habitat all volunteer team as well!
Help us turn the dream of home ownership
and fellowship into reality. There are many ways you can help, too!
Washington County HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
