I serve because of the friendships and connections that are created through service. whether it be connecting with your group or with the people you serve, there is something special about giving your time to others. If you have the ability to give your time I believe there is no better use. My personal experience with Washington County, VA Habitat for Humanity has been one of the best experiences of my life. Our work was important and our experience was something that could not have been replicated anywhere else or with any other organization.

This week spent at Washington County, Va Habitat for Humanity has meant everything to me. I wasn't sure what projects I'd be working on throughout the week, which made me nervous. However after the first day of working with Krystal, Walt and my fellow BC students, all my fears dissolved and I felt as though this service site was exactly where I needed to be. I loved that we were able to visit multiple work sites and try out many different jobs. There was always such a high energy and positive environment throughout this week , some that I will remember forever. Leaving Washington County is a tough good-bye but I'm so grateful for this experience and the relationships I have made.
